Acrylic and clay on paper This triptych of heavily layered paintings incorporates unconscious drawings with depictions of the artist deep in sleep. Sparking the artist’s inquiries into sleep and dream studies.

During her foundation degree in Art and Design Longley wanted to explore using the unconscious mind through this project as a form of Automatism. Initial layers of line work and lists that come from the artist’s unconscious activities are merged into imagery of sleeping.
